Ron Pickering Bio
A noted Prince Edward County watercolour artist, Ron Pickering is very active in the local artistic community exhibiting his work at a variety of venues throughout the area. He has won several awards at the annual Prince Edward County Fair art exhibition including "Artist of the Year 2002" and the "People's Choice Award" at Expressions 2006, Quinte Arts Council.
For many years, Ron hosted a television show, "Painting with Pickering", which aired on Cogeco Cable, Belleville, Ontario. Ron enjoys teaching art to others and conducts classes at Loyalist College, at off-campus locations in Belleville and Trenton , and formerly at the Kingston School of Art. He also accepts
students at his studio overlooking Adolphus Reach in Prince Edward County. See teaching.
Ron has completed many commissioned works including Blue Shutters , a lovely house in the south of France, the Red Barn, a well known local landmark at Fields of West Lake in Prince Edward County, a friend's classic convertible and the chapel at historic Glenwood Cemetery.
Four of his paintings have appeared on the cover of the sailing magazine Gam.
His painting "The Creek" was featured on the cover of
County Magazine, Winter 2000, and he was the featured
artist for the Winter 2017 edition.
